What makes you different than a daycare?
At Hummingbird Hollow, we offer something truly different: a nurturing, home-based learning environment designed to honor each child’s unique rhythm and developmental needs. We combine the best of classical education, nature-based exploration, and Montessori principles to create a rich, screen-free environment rooted in literature, the arts, and practical life.
Unlike traditional daycare centers with rigid schedules and large group sizes, we provide a calm, intimate setting where children are free to engage, create, and connect at their own pace. Nap time is individualized — not on floor mats in a shared space, but in dedicated nap rooms that mimic the comforts of home. Our mixed-age groupings are intentional — they allow children to naturally develop advanced interpersonal skills, including empathy, patience, cooperation, and leadership. Our strict child-to-adult ratios ensure every child receives the focused attention and care they deserve.
Not only do we incorporate partial American Sign Language and Spanish immersion, we also love highlighting language and culture through audiobooks, music and organic cuisine from all over the world. Students roam daily across half an acre that includes a chemical free garden and orchard, playground, mud kitchens and much more. A genuine safe haven for curious little minds.
Parents choose Hummingbird Hollow not just for care, but for a meaningful early childhood experience that lays the foundation for lifelong learning, confidence, and joy.
