Pottery and Art by Janet McGregor Dunn

Where I'll be, where I've been...

Old Courthouse Fine Art Show, Fayetteville, GAI participate in a number of shows throughout the year in addition to sharing my work at various galleries and specialty art shops.

In recent months I've been helping my son on occasion with his booths at garden shows around the country. Often I pop out a display of pottery and do a little selling. It's wonderful to spend time with him and to share my art with a new audience.

Not too long ago while at a show on St. Simon's Island I met up with a gentleman who makes driftwood sculptures. I bought a number of his very cool pieces to use as displays for my smaller pieces. I also use them as backdrops or separators on shelves. I love the driftwood sculptures. We're discussing teaming up for some shows.

Old Courthouse Fine Art Show, Fayetteville, GAMy cousin, Steve Boykin, is also an extremely talented artist. He paints some wonderful portraits and landscapes. He and I are going to be teaming up for a few shows later.

I have a few favorite shows. My first show was the local Old Courthouse Fine Arts Show. I always save room in my schedule for that show! The photos you see on this page are from the 2011 show. You'll see some of the driftwood sculptures I mentioned above.

I am a member of FAACE (Fine Arts and Crafts Entrepreneurs). We have teamed up with the Veranda Historic Inn in Senoia, Georgia and now have a Gallery to showcase our art. Additionally, FAACE has two annual art shows, Art at the City and Art with Heart. We're working on adding a fall show.

I've recently joined the Newnan-Coweta Art Association. It is a vibrant community of artists in my neighboring county.
