Pitchers
I am not a wheel person. I started in pottery using
the wheel, but quickly learned that it didn't fit my personality. I
don't know how to sit still for any length of time and I don't like
repetition. I moved to slab and hand-building and found my niche. You can do anything
with slab that you can do on a wheel, it's just slower and the
chances of turning out two pieces alike are much harder. Of course,
I hate to do something twice so that suits me perfectly. It does
mean that I'm not as prolific in producing pieces as those who work
on the wheel. (I still use the wheel on occasion, but it's rare.)

Simply Soaring
$65
Stands about 13 inches tall. I think it's pretty cool. If it were
in my home or office I'd leave it as is, but it also looks good
with dried flowers or green plants (root them!). |

Smackwater Pitcher
Earth tones with hints of blues. Inspired by Carole King's
Smackwater Jack. You can't put a smack of water in this vase but you
can certainly put a container in it and your own floral arrangement.
Dried flowers always look wonderful in earthy containers like this
one, too. |

$145
Approx. 9 inches tall |

This is one in a series of what
I call "smash" pitchers. They are made very nicely symmetrical,
perfectly formed... and then selectively squashed and smashed in places to give
them some character. I've never been one to do things traditionally,
and I love to experiment. This particular pitcher sold (thank you) so I'm busy working on
some more. Sold

Purple Haze
The only reason I'm selling this pitcher is 'cause
I don't have any purple in my house. I love the shape and colors and
wish I could find a spot in my home or office. It stands about 5 1/2
inches tall (at tip of handle).
I got on a purple kick, made a number of pieces
and every single one sold. I guess I'll have to make a few more
purples, hmmm?

Max Overload
$225
Approx. 10 1/2 in. tall
Double handled pitcher. All the Peter Max colors in one piece of
pottery! Aqua, black, red, yellow, dark blue, etc. I had a lot of
fun making the pitcher while thinking back to those days when I
mimicked his early style for posters, etc. |
