Pottery and Art by Janet McGregor Dunn

About Janet McGregor Dunn

I love having my hands in clay. I love experimenting with glazes. I live to get into the studio. I love exploring all the combinations of textures when creating many of my original pieces. (Yes, there is a lot I like and love about pottery and clay!)

I was a painter (oil, acrylics, watercolor) for many years, but once I found clay I knew I'd found my home-corner in the world of creativity.

Music is an integral part of my life and many pieces are created with a musical theme in mind. Just like my art, my musical tastes are eclectic. You'll see musical flavors and themes in almost all of my pieces. Sometimes it's the blues, sometimes jazz, hard rock, classical, country... it just depends on my mood.

Aside from my little fun fish and similar pieces, all of the art pottery or sculpture I create is unique, never to be repeated. Even those little fish, hearts and stars are one-of-a-kind, hand glazed with additions!

Courthouse on the Square Show

I had a great time at the annual Courthouse Square Art Show in Fayetteville! Thanks to all who bought my art! My work won a ribbon (which came with a little cash... very nice!). It was great to do the show and really fantastic to have the judges appreciate my pottery, too. I'll be there again next year, wouldn't miss seeing all the wonderful people who stop by. Excellent show, well run with supportive volunteers. That's me in the center above, with Patsy Gullett on the left and Debi Lenox on the right.
